Thanks to all who supported the success of TO THE STARS. Tickets for the inaugural music centre concert ‘To The Stars’ sold across New Zealand and the world. The virtual concert filmed in the Great Hall features a star-studded lineup of New Zealand musical artists, and highlights the glorious interior and sparkling acoustics, which make it ideal as a centre for music.

Performances by Simon O’Neill ONZM, opera singer; NZTrio (piano, violin, cello); Flavio Villani (grand piano), Rita May (acoustic guitar singer/songwriter); Horomona Horo (taonga puoro); Zosia Herlihy O’Brien (organ); the Graduate Choir, piper DJ Harvey and family.

We acknowledge the extraordinary generosity of Max Gimblett ONZM. It is thanks to Max’s gift of his artwork to the Trust that St David’s is still standing, and all that this means. The $1,000,000 we fundraised through the Art of Remembrance project.

St David’s is going to serve the community in many ways, including as a centre for music. The focus is non-amplified music, because the acoustics of the Great Hall are so fine.
